Sound The Shofar
This is my most recent oil painting 12/2025. I painted this piece for a dear brother with an impactful message within it.
The man standing on the wall represents the watchman, one who has been given eyes to see and the responsibility to warn. He lifts the shofar in urgency. The sound released is a call to awaken, to rise, and to recognize the hour.
In the original painting, throughout the camp, fires burn in scattered places. These fires signify unrest, danger, and the pressing nature of the moment. They are not distant or symbolic of something far off, but present, visible, and already ignited. They speak to a world where the need for discernment is no longer optional.
The watchman does not control how the warning is received. His duty is to sound the shofar faithfully. Whether the camp stirs or remains still is a matter of choice.
This painting reflects the weight carried by those called to stand on the wall, to speak when silence would be easier, and to warn even when the message may not be welcomed. It is both a personal dedication and a universal reminder that the time to awaken is now.
The shofar is sounding.
The fires are already burning.
The call has gone out.
